EPM Technology in Esprit - the European IT research programs

EPM Technology (EPM) is a selected partner in several of the European Union's Esprit IT research programs. As one of the world's leading developers of STEP/EXPRESS-based software, EPM's contribution is valuable. Furthermore, EPM's participation in Esprit projects ultimately benefits the end-user: the new knowledge obtained and technology developed will enhance the EXPRESS Data Manager product line and ensure it is always at the forefront of advanced product data technology.

EP20408 VEGA - Virtual Enterprises using Groupware tools and distributed Architectures: It targets large scale engineering industry (process plants, offshore structures, power plants, etc.) involved in shorter term business relationships and supplier chains geared towards a specific project. VEGA will develop a platform for distributed access to (STEP) product models.

EP 25677 WIT - Enabling data sharing and business interactivity across the Wood sector value chain by developing a custom set of Internet based IT Tools: The project is targeted at small- to medium sized enterprises in the wood and furniture industry and the objective is to develop cost-effective methods for one-stop-shopping of industry related products.

EPM Technology's role in the project is to facilitate product model access and integration in the WIT environment as provided by ISO 10303 (STEP) and ISO 15531 (P-LIB). More info. at: http://www.planet.gr/wit

EP26883 VePrim - Virtual Enterprise Product Information Model ó deals with electronic commerce and focuses on customer requirements and satisfaction. The technical objective is to create a model consisting of methods, experience, and intelligence using standards which enable any manufacturing enterprise to reduce lead times and costs. This will be achieved through improved availability, more efficient communication, and better product information.

EPM Technology contributes with information modeling, system architecture, and tools related to STEP technology.
