EPM's R&D awards 2000

Since EXPRESS Data Manager saw the light in the Esprit IMPPACT, the product has successfully been used in a large number of R&D projects - EU projects represent the majority. EPM seeks projects controlled by end-users with a dedicated commitment to deploy PDT and with EPM in the role as commercial vendor and architecture experts.

EPM has been awarded the following projects that will run from 2000-2002:

Norwegian R&D project Apotram, which seeks to implement the next generation of transaction system on top of EXPRESS Data Manager.

IST project MERCI which will develop e-commerce for the Management, Exchange and Represen-tation of (semi-conductor) Component Information. The system will be based on ISO 13584 (P-LIB) and will reuse Esprit CIREP results.

IMS project GLOBEMEN aims at Global Engineering and Manufacturing in Enterprise Networks. It is sponsored through IST but is also part of the global IMS program. GLOBEMEN will reuse results from the Globeman21 project. The project had its international kick-off in Finnish Lapland. More information can be found on http://globemen.vtt.fi/ IST project E-CONSTRUCT aims at developing a business to business language for the building and construction industry using the emerging eXtende Markup Language (XML). The system will be closely linked to the IFC specification developed by IAI.
