Fujitsu Kyushu System's commitment to STEP and EXPRESS Data ManagerPublished 1997-10-28
Fujitsu, one of the world's largest computer companies and a global leader in semiconductors and telecommunications, recognizes the growing importance of ISO 10303 STEP. The Fujitsu STEP Research and Development Center pays particular attention to CALS and EDI in the strategic solutions developed for their customers as part of the systems integration business.
Asian distributionIn August 1997, Fujitsu Kyushu System Engineering Ltd. (FQS) signed a contract to distribute the EXPRESS Data Manager suite of products in Japan, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. This is a natural evolution of the positive co-operation be-tween the two companies which was initiated in 1996 in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU states that both companies will cooperate technically in order to contribute towards the global awareness of STEP. Takashi Inouye, director of FQS, says, "EPM Technology has been very successful in supplying its STEP software, the EXPRESS Data Manager product suite, in the most advanced companies and projects. This comes as no surprise to us at Fujitsu because we find the EXPRESS Data Manager to be an excellent set of tools in terms of both reliability and functionality. This is a direct result of EPM Technology's vast experience from real-life installations; a sharp contrast to other systems which are often more experimental." Says Kjell Bengtsson, EPM Technology's vice president of sales and marketing, "With Fujitsu's experience as one of the world's largest IT compa-nies, and with the innovative technology from EPM, we believe that any project will allow leading companies to create virtual and extended enterprise solutions based on the ISO 10303 STEP standard." See us in TokyoBoth Fujitsu and EPM Technology will exhibit at the "CALS Expo International 1997" in Tokyo from 4 to 7 November. Various solutions based on new technology will be demonstrated.Point of contact in Asia: |
