EDMvisualExpress

EDMvisualExpress™ is widely recognized for its unique on-screen working environment. Within minutes a new user can create data models that are automatically translated into EXPRESS source code and an advanced user can modify complex EXPRESS schemata. EDMvisualExpress™ has been carefully designed to meet the daily needs of all users, ranging from novices to experts in the areas of data modeling, EXPRESS (or both).

EDMvisualExpress™ fully supports EXPRESS-G and, in addition, makes it possible to visualize the objects in a data model that are not possible to display using only EXPRESS-G. These objects are basic to all data models and are essential for accomplishing any serious tasks in EXPRESS:

EDMvisualExpress™ also includes a documentation feature which enables you to display comments as part of the graphic data model or print them as independent text, as well as publish your data model on the web.

EDMvisualExpress™ makes working with an EXPRESS data model an interactive event, moving quickly and easily between the representation of the model in the graphic view, the structure of the model in the object navigator, and the actual EXPRESS source code.

EDMvisualExpress™ gives you immediate feedback as you create or modify a data model, notifying you, for example, if you attempt to assign an invalid name to an object. When the data model is compiled and validated, EDMvisualExpress™ generates a list of warnings (things it would be nice to fix) and errors (things you must fix). Debugging becomes quick and easy by simply clicking on the item you want to modify and moving to the graphic view to make the changes. EDMvisualExpress™ makes bug-free code a very real possibility.

Technical requirements

EDMvisualExpress™ can be installed on any system supporting Microsoft Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. EDMvisualExpress(tm) has full support for Express Edition 2.
