Methanol installation for Heidrun

Heidrun is a tension-leg platform in concrete and, at the moment, is the only one of its kind in Norway. The platform stands 350 m deep in the Heidrun field just off the coast of Nord-Trøndelag.

The 130 ton Methanol Injection Package for the Heidrun platform was built in Halden and Fredrikstad by the Jotne Group. The methanol installation will be used to inject methanol into the well head to prevent water from freezing.
