New life for traditional dockyards

The past few years have seen a resurgence of activity in the Jotne Group's dry dock and dock area in Fredrikstad. The dock is 296 meters long and previously belonged to Fredrikstad Mekaniske Verksted (FMV), which built ships up to 130 000 tons in size here. It is now used for ships needing repair, testing of subsea systems and other industrial activities.

There are several large welding halls on these yards that are used for maintenance and assembly work. The Jotne Group's workshops use the facilities for construction and assembly of tanks, process skids and other large constructions for on and offshore use. Shipping possibilities are excellent because deep-water berths are available just outside the halls.
