Norwegian Army upgrades its all-terrain carriers

The Jotne Group has developed, designed and delivered equipment for the Norwegian Army Material Command. Jotne Ankers has manufactured a large number of multi-purpose frames for use on the "light tracked over snow vehicle" BV 206.

The company has together with EPM Consultants also developed prototypes of mini flat-racks, water canister frames and fuel canister frames, which have all been tested under rough winter conditions.

"One of the requirements for the water canister frame was that at a temperature of -30°C, water in the canisters starting at a temperature of 4°C would not freeze for 12 hours," explains Terje Rogstad, project manager. "We solved this by using a special type of insulation." The equipment is designed for use together with a high lifting hook-lift system providing flexibility in field operations.
