Primary supplier of tanks and pressure vessels

More than 100,000 tanks and pressure vessels have been manufactured by Jotne SB-Verksted in Drammen during the years. Practically all petroleum companies in Norway are on the company's customers list.

In Fredrikstad, on the other side of the Oslo fjord, sits Jotne Fremo with facilities for the production and shipping of large tanks and pressure vessels. When Hydro Aluminium in Årdal decided to switch to liquid petroleum gases (LPG, propane and butane) as their main energy source, they ordered three large pressure vessels from the Jotne Group. The change-over from oil to LPG was done for environmental reasons, reducing emissions by 40 percent.

Each of the three vessels for Hydro Aluminium is 35 meters long, weighs 140 tons and has a capacity of 800 cubic meters. The Jotne Group's construction halls in Fredrikstad are more than large enough to handle such structures.
The Jotne Group is whenever needed able to speed up delivery time considerably. "Six weeks after we received the order, we delivered the product - a pressure vessel in duplex, 8 meters long, to be used on Snorre B," says Ole Martin Moe of Jotne SB-Verksted.

"Normally, it takes eight weeks just to get the raw materials in place."

Tanks and pressure vessels from the Jotne Group are not only used in Norway. Jackon GmbH in Germany, a manufacturer of polystyrene, recently ordered eight tanks designed and manufactured in cooperation between EPM Consultants, Jotne Ankers, Jotne Fremo and Jotne SB-Verksted.
