Reducing noise levels

Industrial production sometimes has unwanted effects on the environment. This is the case at the Jøtul cast iron manufacturing facility located in a residential area in Fredrikstad. The neighbours have complained about noise from the factory, which produces stoves and fireplaces.

To reduce this noise pollution to acceptable levels, Jotne Fremo has designed and delivered a large steel construction to protect the sand blowing and post-casting treatment part of the plant. The noise protection house is eight meters high and covered on the inside with noise absorbing materials.

"This is a job that fits in nicely with our tradition as a servicing partner," says Gunnar Mainitz, managing director of Jotne Fremo.

Jotne Fremo has for decades been a supplier of special designed constructions to Jøtul and other domestic process industry.
