With new applications based on JAVA and latest Internet technologies, EPM Technology continues to bring innovative software to the market. These new features are the direct results from Esprit R&D programs - such as VEGA and WIT - in which EPM is playing a leading role.

When the lifecycle of a product is measured in decades rather than days, supporting data exchange and sharing is a major issue. These examples from the defence sector highlight the problems and the contribution that EPM Technology is making towards solving them.

DARPA/MariSTEP sponsored Shipbuilding Industry consortium demonstrates data exchange of moulded forms, compartmentation, and piping data using translators based upon ISO STEP Shipbuilding Application Protocols. The MariSTEP partners have access to all applications in the EXPRESS Data Manager product line. Also, there is a collaborative activity to other projects like EMSA and SeaSprite.

TC 184/SC4 - Industrial Data - is the ISO committee responsible for the dev-elopment of STEP and related standards for exchange, sharing and integration of engineering data across a number of industrial sectors. One of its Working Groups - WG 10 (Data Architecture) - is currently tackling two important issues.
