STEP makes saving a success

Over the years Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems (LMTAS) have been involved in numerous projects. These have concentrated on ISO STEP application protocols AP203 (config-uration management), AP 209 (composite and metallic finite element analysis and related design) and AP 232 (technical data packages) and have been undertaken both internally and exter-nally e.g. the PAS-C project in conjunction with the Air Force and the TACOM pilot in conjunction with the Army.

Managing Component Data with PLIB

PLIB (ISO 13584) has been developed to support the management of component data in a standardised manner. PLIB is based on an EXPRESS meta model. Part of the meta model specifies a dictionary which describes the properties of the various component classes and organises the classes in a hierarchy.
